Grounding helps you be more present with what you are doing and whom you are with. It also brings more focus, awareness and productivity. This is a great technique to incorporate in your everyday life and very helpful to begin most meditations.
Ex. Sit or lay comfortably, it is often easier to do this exercise with your eyes closed but if you prefer you can keep your eyes open. First, take a deep breath and with your exhale release all tension from your body. Be effortlessly in the center of your head. Visualize a grounding cord strongly connected to your 1st chakra, the base of your spine. You can visualize this however you wish; some people see it as a beam of light, a cord, a rope, tree truck or anchor. Whichever you chose, see it in detail..see the shape, color, size, texture and strength. Know that you can change your grounding cord at any time, as long as it feels appropriate for you. Visualize the grounding cord straight down moving through your chair or wherever you are sitting..down through the floor..the ground..the Earth.. all the way to the center of the Earth connected to the core. See the strong connection from your first chakra to the center of the Earth and set the intention that you are now grounded in present time.
Being in present time
Calling your energy back into present time is a great exercise when you are feeling a bit scattered.
Ex. Imagine an orange – go through all of your senses experiencing the orange. Visualize the orange's color, texture, brightness, etc. Imagine holding it in your hand and feel its weight..hear the sound of cutting or peeling open the orange.. feel the mist of the orange peel on your hands and smell the citrus scent..taste the sweet flavor of the juice and take in the whole experience in the present moment.
Boundaries are a way to create space for yourself. Boundaries will boost confidence, awareness and protection.
Sometime you may feel uncomfortable and don’t know why; this is often because someone else’s energy is in your space. You only want your own energy in our space. Any time someone else’s energy is in your space it’s because we have some sort of permission for them to be there, but you also have the ability to clear them out. If you leave your energetic door open you may allow energies in that you don't need. This may leave you feeling tired, uninspired and even confused on which information to listen to. Here is a simple technique to create boundaries.
Ex. Close your eyes. Be in the center of your head. Visualize your grounding cord connected to your first chakra, at the base of your spine and to the center of the Earth in present time. Now visualize your aura, looking like a bubble about an arm’s length around you, in front of you, above your head, behind you and below you. See it outlined in a blue or purple color. This is a simple way to create boundaries. This is your space which no other beings can come into unless you give them permission. You are grounded in present time, your boundaries are up and you are in the center of your head. Take a minute to feel what this feels like and allow yourself to go directly back to this space whenever you want.
You energy is often where your thoughts are and energy is easily left somewhere else or with someone else so it is very important to call back all of your energy from all time, all people, all places.
Ex. Close your eyes. Ground yourself and center you mind. Visualize a bright, vibrant glowing sun above your head and write your name on it. This sun’s purpose is to attract all of your energy from wherever it is. Visualize all of your energy being called back into the sun from all of your relationships, work, the past, the future, all time, all people, all places. See the sun getting bigger and bigger filling up with all of your energy. The sun will cleanse all this energy and bring it into present time.
Then visualize your 7th chakra opening up and the energy pouring out of the sun into the top of your head and see your glowing energy filling up your entire body from your head to your toes, through all of your chakras and organs and out into your aura as well. When you feel complete, see the top of your head close off, thank the sun and send it off into the sky until next time.
You can do a similar exercise to clear out everyone else’s energy out of your space too. Other people’s energy often lingers in our body and aura.
Ex. To send other peoples energy back to them, call in the sun and this time write a specific name or OPE, (other peoples energy) on it. Visualize all of the energy that does not belong to you, moving out of your body and aura through the top of your head into the sun. The sun will cleanse it and bring it into present time. This happens within seconds. When this feels complete and the sun is filled, send it off and see it burst into gold speckles and have the intention that all of this energy is going back to whom it belongs.
Learning how to be grounded in present time, create boundaries and how to separate from other peoples energy as well as calling back your own are great techniques that can be used on an every day basis to help you feel in alignment and empowered.
